Visual Novel Universe ("VNU", "we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. By using this website or joining our alpha waitlist, you agree to the practices described here.
What data we collect
We collect two kinds of data: aggregated browsing data through Google Analytics, and the data you voluntarily give us when you join VNU's alpha waitlist.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how this website is used: which pages get visited, from which country or device type, and how much time is spent on each section. This information is aggregated and isn't used to identify you individually. Google may process this data under its own privacy policy. You can block these cookies from your browser settings.
Joining the waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we ask for your name and email, which are required. The rest of the form — your tastes, preferred platforms, how you found us — is optional and only helps us shape the product. All of this is stored in our database (MongoDB Atlas).
Communications you may receive
If you check "I want news by email", we'll use your email to send you updates about VNU through our email provider, Brevo. If you check "I want to be a beta tester", we'll email you once the app is ready for you to try. If you check "Add me to Discord", we'll use your email to invite you to our server. None of these boxes are required, and you can unsubscribe at any time from the email itself or by writing to us.
Who we share your data with
We don't sell your data. We only share it with the providers we need to operate: Google (analytics), Brevo (email delivery), and our database provider (MongoDB Atlas), all under their own security guarantees.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist data for as long as the alpha and launch process lasts, or until you ask us to delete it. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to us at contact@visualnoveluniverse.com and we'll take care of it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll note them on this same page.
